It's no wonder so many business owners have the ultimate desire to employee a marketing director. There are so many different means and methods to marketing a company to the public it can be difficult, at best, to mange them all and run a business.
There are certain elements that share a commonality between traditional marketing and online marketing, but there are elements to Internet marketing that may seem foreign to the sensibilities of a traditional marketing specialist.
Some of the more common themes are news items such as press releases that encourage the news media and interested individuals to keep up your firm's latest news. There is also the general commonality of simply getting your name in front of people. The differences often come in the 'how' and 'why' of marketing and not the 'what' and 'should'.
Most businesses understand the need to get people tuned into what their business is doing. Long standing brick and mortar marketing principles would suggest traditional media outlets such as newsprint, radio or television as obvious choices. While these media outlets certainly have a place in marketing, the bulk of successful Internet marketing happens online.
Marketing for the web requires an understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques along with linkable connections scattered throughout the web. What this means is that every time you post on a blog or forum you should make sure a link to your business is included in the signature box. This also means you ask business associates to consider placing a link to your site on their websites.
One of the most cost effective means of advertising your online business will be Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. This is one of the smallest advertisements you will ever see, but they are highly targeted so you have the best chance of reaching prospects that can be turned to customers.
Internet marketing may also mean developing knowledge-based articles or ezines that can readily connect with your customers. Many site owners have either personally developed articles or hired a freelance writer to produce an ebook on the subject of their business that can be passed along to members of their site either through autoresponders or as part of an opt-in membership. These members help you establish a mailing list online. List building techniques include offering a freebie to customers and often result in a very low cost means of growing your contact list.
Internet marketing is vitally important to the establishment and growth of your ecommerce site, but it may require learning a new language and developing new marketing skills. If you can't afford a marketing specialist you can still learn the skills needed to grow your site into a premier online ecommerce destination.

Three Keys to Online Success

It is becoming a well-known fact that you can make a lot of money on the Internet. This widespread knowledge is prompting many entrepreneurs to throw together websites in the hope of making a fortune. The problem is that most of these ambitious people wind up getting discouraged and quitting in a short amount of time. If they only knew some of the fundamental points of Internet marketing, they could have succeeded with relative ease. This article is going to reveal three key steps to internet success that will help you avoid the trap of discouraging results. Let's dive right into it:
Always plan ahead. This is essential in anything you do. Internet marketing is no exception. You need to have a clear plan laid down before you can practically start your new venture. Without a plan of action you are likely to meet with failure. You should research niche markets that are of Interest to you, and be sure that they have a large enough presence on the web to sustain your business. You don't want to get into a market that has little potential for growth. With a small amount of research you can rest assured that the niche you have chosen will prove to be profitable. This step alone can save countless hours of frustration and pointless work. Know your market well and you will succeed marvelously. It is a small investment of time that provides great returns. On the other hand, you don't want to choose a niche that is already glutted with competition. You can usually avoid this by making sure your niche is specific and targeted.
Layout your site with your visitors in mind. This means that your site should be logically built and be easy to navigate. I am amazed at the number of sites that are designed in a confusing manner. Confusing sites are frustrating to be in. Most people will respond by promptly exiting. This is very bad if you want to make money. So make your site clean and clear. Provide great content that proves valuable to your visitors. And most importantly, offer a product that is loaded with benefits and value. People are able sense if what you offer is worthwhile or not. They are not going to buy something that appears to be worth less than what you are charging. Highlight all of the wonderful benefits people will receive if they buy. Offer free bonuses as a topper. This will push many people over the edge and make them purchase. As long as you give your customers value you will not have a problem making plenty of sales.
Follow up with people who do not buy on their first visit to your site using email. This is critical. The only way to accomplish this is to tactfully convince people to opt-in to your mailing list. I have found the easiest way to get people to leave their address is by baiting them with something free. This could be a free ebook, report, newsletter or anything else with perceived value. If you offer something worthwhile, you will have no problem getting people to sign up for your list. Then, you will be able to build trust with that person, and maybe after the third email you make a sale that would have been lost without the use of the opt-in list.
Purchase a good autoresponder program. I personally use Aweber. All you have to do is write a small series of emails that provide something of value. This is an important point: It is not enough to acquire one thousand emails. If you want to convert those into sales, you need to provide valuable, quality information in order to build respect and trust. If your readers don't appreciate what you are sending them, they will certainly not order anything from you. You could send them industry tips or whatever you deem fitting for your niche. Near the end of each of these helpful emails include a great offer for your products. Maybe a special discount or limited-time-offer. People will warm up to you over time and many will wind up ordering. Remember... these are people who would have probably never purchased from you without the use of email marketing.
The three points above represent the fundamentals of internet marketing success. There are many more subtle points that are essential to optimizing your business. If you are interested in learning more check out my ebook, The Ultimate Guide to Internet Marketing Success.

Internet Traffic And SEO Techniques

by Roberto Sedycias
You might be wandering the reasons your web site is not getting much internet traffic. After all your web site took lots of financial and human resources, but unfortunately like so many web sites, it is quite unknown and as a result it does not get enough internet traffic to make it financially viable.
Did you know that about 80 percent of all web site traffic originates from search engines? Yes, it is true! Listing near the top page of search engines and obtaining the attention of your target audience should be a main priority for any web site internet promotion.
And the good news about this is that improving a web site position in search engine pages may be done for free. How? Using search engine optimization (SEO) techniques.
There many ways to promote a web site. Some promotions are paid and some are free. Among the free ones, the search engine optimization techniques enables web sites to become search engine friendly. In other words, it makes website pages to accept the search engine crawler in a friendly way. These techniques will be some of the steps one will have to use to obtain a better position in search engine's pages, when searching for specific keywords, related to services or products offered by a web site.
Search engine optimization steps for a web page:
Title:
The html Title tag is a very important element and must include the most important keywords or phrases, which best represent the products or services offered by the web page. It should not contain more than 60 characters.
Keywords:
The html meta Keyword tag should have all the keyword phrases which best represents the products or services offered by the web page. Avoid repeating keywords and bad use of capital letters. It should not contain more than 250 characters.
Description:
The html meta Description tag is a description of the web page, which will be displayed by the search engine. Make sure it contains keywords phrases. Avoid repeating keywords and bad use of capital letters. It should not contain more than 200 characters.
Keywords in Headings:
Keywords in Headings tags (h1) will be interpreted by search engines as being an important keyword relevant to the web page, and it should be looked for and indexed by the search engines.
Web page text:
It is a good practice to include informative text one every page, using natural language and appropriate keywords. It should contain more than 200 words. Informative text should be placed in the html Body section of the web page.
Keywords in Alt Tags:
Every html picture "img" tag should contain an ALT tag with an appropriate description. Keywords should always be used when appropriate.
Keywords in Anchor Tags:
Every html hypertext link "a href " should contain a TITLE tag with an appropriate description. Keywords should always be used when appropriate.
Robots.txt file:
Make sure there is a robots.txt file in you web site directory. This is a text file created by the webmaster, which will guide the search engine´s crawler when indexing a web site.
There are some cases in which one might not want to have some web pages indexed. This way thru the use of robots.txt, one will have control over which pages will be indexed and made available to the search engines.
User-agent: * Disallow: /tmp/ Disallow: /data/
HTML code validation:
Search engine's crawlers become more efficient when indexing web pages with no html errors. Beware that some html errors can make search engine crawlers to give up indexing web pages. So it is recommended for those web pages to be indexed, there should be no html errors.
Links:
Links are very important to search engines. The quality of links and whether it is reciprocal or not, are important factors in evaluating the importance of a web page. Links from web sites with higher page ranks are a plus.
Registering with Directories and Search Engines:
It is very important the registration of a website with directories and search engine web sites. It is a way of telling the world that your web site exists. Avoid using automatic search engine/directory registration.
Search engine optimization has become a very important set of procedures which helps web sites to become more relevant to search engines. To obtain an increase in internet traffic will take some time. It probably will take some kind of additional promotion too. But anybody in need of higher internet traffic, free search engine optimization might be considered his first option.

Why Google Adsense Offers Tremendous Opportunities For Your Business by Kirk Smith
9:17 AM
juli
When it comes down to anything happening online, Google is certainly 'king of the castle' it would seem. As well as stamping its authority for being the internets most powerful search engine utilized by surfers internationally, Google also has additional strings to its bow and provides services for email, more commonly known as gmail, sitemaps, news feeds and is even a provider for hosting it's latest venture, Google Video where visitors can upload their videos so that others may view them online.
However, one of Google's trump cards is Google Adsense, which is a multi billion dollar money spinner. The way Google adsense works is very straight forward and so simple that many entrepreneurs are probably wondering why they didn't think of the service themselves. Google Adsense is essentially a method for merchants to raise additional income by way of displaying advertisements on their site. What makes it so unique though is that the merchant is displaying not his own ads but those of alternative companies.
The ads that are displayed will be determined by the content on the webpage that the ads are to be displayed on, so for example, if you own a plumbing business then it is highly likely that all of the ads being displayed will be to advertise the services of companies involved with plumbing.
That's Crazy! Why Send Your Visitors & Customers To The Competition?
Well yeah, on the face of it I can see why you'd be thinking that, it does seem a little unorthodox to want to drive your traffic away but get this, every time somebody clicks on one of the ads displayed on your website, guess what? You get paid for it, over and over again. If your website gets lots of traffic to it and your visitors like the ads displayed because the ads offer something of interest to them then it's highly likely that your CTR or 'click through ratio' will be very high, meaning you stand to really make some serious money from Google Adsense.
So How Much Do I Make Per Click?
This is how clever Google Adsense is as it utilizes a system of 'smart pricing' whereby it will not pay you a set fee per ad but rather will decide your payout depending on the content on your site, the relevancy of the click, where the visitor was referred from, whether the click was valid or invalid, and many other considerations. Google has a very advanced algorithm to substantiate this data and there is no easy way to try and see what makes it tick.
What If I Want To Advertise Myself?
That's what's great about Google Adsense because it is a win win situation for both advertiser and publisher alike. Perhaps you run a business and your website is very recent and you have hardly any traffic coming to your site, If this is the case then you can very easily become an advertiser and run your ads on other content related sites, thereby reversing the roles and driving targeted traffic to your site and increasing your exposure and also increasing your chances of making more sales etc. Google has a service known as Google Adwords and it is simply a case of signing up for the program and then creating a campaign to display your ads. For this you will be charged every time a visitor clicks on one of your ads or you may opt to be charged by the amount of impressions your ad receives. There are a number of options available so it makes sense to do a little research before making your campaign live.
Whether you choose to be a publisher or an advertiser, Google Adsense is so easy to implement and can be functional in minutes as in most cases it is simply a task of copying and pasting some very basic html code that is provided by Google Adsense.
If you want to drive much more traffic to your website or you're a publisher and you want to make easy additional cash for sitting back and waiting for someone to click on one of the ads on your site, then Google Adsense just may be the solution to your current needs.

7 Steps Of Mega Adsense Earners
8:36 AM
juli
The Google AdSense program is like finding money in the street.
Kids in High School are making thousands of dollars a month with Adsense... Housewives, Retiree's, Mom and Pop's who've never made a dime on the Internet have created full time incomes by simply placing AdSense Ads on their web site or blog.
Then you have the "Super AdSense" earners. We have all heard of them... the Elite few who are on track to make half a million dollars a year or more promoting AdSense sites.
Do not be mistaken though... these people are not building like your Mom and Pop's do. They have systems in place that create sites for them... people who build sites for them... they have outsourced and automated many of the tedious tasks such as posting to blogs and searching for keywords.
While most people cannot emulate everything these Super AdSense earners do... many of them you can.
Here are 7 Required Steps you can implement today to copy their success.
1) Starting today... treat your AdSense business like it is a REAL business and track what you do.
Begin tracking what you are doing that works... as well as what you are doing that does not work. This will keep you from making the same mistakes over and over, and you can repeat the steps that have worked in the past. As simple as this step seems... most people do not know the reason(s) to their success or failure.
2) Utilize the latest tools and software available.
The Super AdSense earners are not any smarter than your average person. I know many people think they are... but for the most part, they are regular non techie people.
They are smarter in one respect though... they use the latest tools available to them to automate most of the tasks involved with researching and creating sites. They use the latest keyword, site creation and search engine optimization tools available. The tools they use are their secret weapons.
3) Quit chasing the Mega Dollar keywords.
You cannot compete with the search engine experts who create sites for the $80 payout keywords. You may get lucky every now and then... but in the long run, you are better off building sites for the low to mid range payout keywords. The competition is less, and your chance of success is much higher over the long term.
4) Choose broad niches and break it down.
Choose a broad subject as your main theme (lets use computers for an example). From there... break it down into as many sub niches as possible.
Using Computers as the example... you could build sub niches/sites like laptop computers, computer hard drives, computer keyboards, etc, etc. You could literally build hundreds of sites around one major theme and stay totally focused. Once you have exhausted every possible sub niche of that major theme... choose another main theme and repeat the process.
5) KISS
Keep your sites easy to navigate and forget the fancy graphics that distract your visitors attention. Unless you are just building AdSense sites for the fun of it and to impress your friends... the purpose of having the site is to have people click on one of the ads, right? Then keep the site layout simple... dump the scrolling banners, dancing chickens and colored scroll bars... they are distractions.
6) What is the purpose of your web site?
Your web site cannot be everything to everybody. If you have a full fledged ecommerce site, with products for sale... links to other products, it is not a good site for AdSense. If the primary focus of the site is to sell products... let it do that.
Do not distract or confuse your visitor with to many options or choices. The best AdSense sites are AdSense only content sites that sell nothing. They are sites that "Tell"... not "Sell."
7) Be consistent.
This is not one of those deals where you build one site and you are done. Refer back to Step #4. You must continuously build in order to be successful.
Think of it as planting a crop that you will harvest in a month or two, and the sites you build are seeds. Once the seeds have grown and matured... you will reap the harvest. The more seeds you plant... the larger the harvest.
To sum it up... utilize the tools available to automate as much of the process of building sites - doing research and building keyword lists as you can. This alone will help keep you organized and on track. Be consistent in building... treat it like the business it is and you will reap the rewards of your harvest.
